ABOUT EMILY
I’m Emily, a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, Marine Corps veteran, and mom.
Believe it or not but my journey with fitness didn’t start in a gym. Before joining the Marine Corps, I stayed active but my workouts looked like a lot of people’s do: mostly cardio. Running, endurance work, and chasing "skinny".
When I joined the Marines, that style of training continued. The military emphasizes endurance, conditioning, and pushing through physical limits. While it built mental toughness, it also came with a price.
I was 105lbs soaking wet in bootcamp and was put on "double rations" as I was quite underweight for my height. Pure skin and bones with no muscle to help prevent injury. I left only 7lbs heavier and lost it just as quickly as I gained it. I struggled with putting on weight my entire life. I simply could not eat enough nor did I understand what TO eat.
During my career in the Marine Corps, I went through three shoulder surgeries and developed herniated discs in both my neck and lower back. Years of wear and tear forced me to rethink what strength and health really meant. Had I been strength training these injuries likely would have never happened during my service.
Then life added even more challenges.
In 2021 after years of severe black mold poisoning I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and dysautonomia. I have permanent damage in my lungs resulting in restrictive pulmonary disease. Just when I thought I had that under control and finally understood my body and what triggers my flares, I went into acute liver failure in January of 2025. I couldn't train for 4 months as I healed by no other than my faith in God.
My point here is there were seasons where my body felt like it was constantly working against me. I had every reason to quit, slow down, or walk away from fitness completely. But something in me refused to stop trying.
My real introduction to weight training came a year and a half after I gave birth to my son Hudson in 2016 and went through divorce. Walking into the gym during that season changed everything for me. Strength training didn’t just help me rebuild my body after pregnancy. It became a tool that helped me regain my confidence, manage PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
The gym became a place where I could regain control of my life again, piece by piece.
Over time I fell completely in love with the process of building strength, learning how the body adapts, and seeing how powerful consistent training can be, even when life isn’t perfect.
In 2022, I decided to turn that passion into something bigger and became certified through the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI). Since then, I’ve been coaching others who are trying to rebuild themselves too.
I work with people who are busy, overwhelmed, burnt out, or feel like they’ve lost themselves somewhere along the way. People who want to feel strong again, physically and mentally.
Because I know firsthand that fitness isn’t linear. Progress comes with setbacks, injuries, life stress, and seasons where you have to rebuild.
But progress doesn’t stop just because life gets hard.
My goal as a coach is to help you build a body that’s strong, resilient, and capable of supporting the life you want to live.
Life isn’t perfect, and it will challenge you. There will be seasons where progress feels slow, where you’re rebuilding instead of pushing forward. I’ve lived through those seasons more than once. But I’ve learned that staying true to yourself and continuing to show up, even in small ways, is where real progress happens.
When life hits hard, it doesn’t mean progress has to stop. Strength is built in the moments when you keep showing up for yourself, even when things aren’t perfect. That’s the mindset I bring to my coaching, and what I hope you discover for yourself along the way. <3
